Towards Work is generally a three-year course. It's all about helping you to improve your basic skills, confidence and maturity ready for work or for further study. You will have the chance to be involved in enterprise activities and you will also have the opportunity to gain experience in a number of areas of work like: farm animal care, horticulture, hospitality, health and social care, travel & tourism, sport, and active leisure.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for students with more moderate learning difficulties. While there are no formal entry requirements, you will need to come in for an interview and an informal assessment to make sure that the course meets your needs. Students will normally have either a Statement of Special Educational Needs, or be receiving support via School Action Plus in their current school and have a S139A Moving on Plan, or an Education Health and Care Plan. Please apply early as places are limited.

What can I do next?

At the end of the course you may wish to continue on at College onto LEAP, Supported Internship or BTEC Level 1 Vocational studies to carry on building your skills or progress to work based training such as apprenticeships.
