Funding and bursaries
Students if you’re aged over 19 you may be eligible for free tuition depending on the course you want to study, your existing qualifications and your financial circumstances. For more information email email@example.com or call 023 8087 4874.
Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over. Eligible learners will be enrolling on a level 3 or above course and are a UK or EU national. For further information, visit gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.
At least three GCSEs, at grade 3 or 2 (grade D or E), or a Merit or Distinction at BTEC Level 1, plus an interest in media and film, and making your own material.
What will I learn?
This course will develop students who want to work in the publishing, game development, media, television and film industries. You will:
Enhance your understanding of media practices
Develop your skills with specialist software packages including InDesign, Photoshop and Premier Pro and many more
Learn about visual production through photography and film editing
Create your own portfolio of media work
You’ll have the chance to do at least 60 hours of relevant work experience to support your studies, gain experience and potentially develop contacts with future employers. Our careers team is available to help you secure work placements.

Planning and pitching a digital media product
There are also a range of specialist practical units, which may include:

Digital Photography for a Media Product
Animation for Digital Media
Digital Art for a Media Product
Graphic Design for Digital Media
You’ll be assessed through a combination of coursework, practical tasks and multiple choice examinations.
There are a variety of enrichment opportunities on offer throughout the year.
Career and Progression
You can progress onto our Level 3 Creative Media course, or specialise by studying Video Games Development Level 3. You can also gain work experience in a creative studio or progress to an apprenticeship.
