Write your own future and prepare for a career in digital with this IT course. This course is aimed at those who have an interest in the latest ICT technologies including hardware and software. If you like understanding how computers work, enjoy programming, developing products, then this course if for you. Across this one-year programme you will have the opportunity to study a wide range of ICT subjects. This course looks to develop your skills in an area that is fast developing. Future jobs will also desire/require a good understanding of new technologies.

Funding and bursaries

Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over. Eligible learners will be enrolling on a level 3 or above course and are a UK or EU national. For further information, visit gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.

Entry requirements

At least three GCSEs at grade 3 or a Merit/ Distinction at Level 1, plus an interest with information technology and relevant industries

Assessment

You will be assessed through a combination of coursework, practical tasks and examinations.

Career and Progression

Completion of the course will allow you to progress either straight into industry working in a relevant sector. Alternatively you could progress onto an apprenticeship or study at Level 3 within the IT/Computing Industry which could lead to HE. In addition, this course links well with the Media / Video Games curriculum area and you could progress into a course within this area if you desired.
