We are proud to announce one of our art student, Ceri Garrett has won the ‘Turnip Prize’, after gaining the most votes with staff and visitors to the End of Year Art and Design show, here at Totton College. She produced a highly creative 3D painted diorama of polar bears in the arctic. Ceri has completed a successful year on the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and has achieved a Merit grade for her work, securing a place on the prestigious BA Honours Degree course in Model Making at the Arts University Bournemouth, only one of four such courses in the country.

Ceri said: ‘I am pleased that people voted for my artwork, as there is so much excellent work in the show. I am delighted with my grade and I cannot wait to start my new course in September.’

Staff within the art and design department are delighted with Ceri’s hard work throughout the year, particularly as she also had to successfully pass a level 2 qualification in mathematics to secure her higher education place.
