Creative Media student, Harry Gomm, has been awarded the Creative Student Awards 2019 at Solent University for his documentary created at Totton College.

The award-winning documentary, ‘Bronies: the inner workings’, examines what it means to be an adult fan of popular children’s cartoons designed for aimed at 4 year olds and over, and the strong sense of community amongst fans, many of whom travel worldwide to conventions each year.  Using a fusion of anime, cartoon and interview footage, Harry filmed, edited and produced the thought-provoking documentary onsite at Totton College, and submitted the piece as his final year project in 2018.

Hannah Avoth, Totton College Vice Principal, said:

“We are immensely proud of Harry and all of his hard work and talent.  Harry’s achievements highlight that Totton College students continue to thrive and succeed in an environment that offers them high-quality teaching, facilities, and equipment, alongside the opportunity to explore their passions.”

Harry Gomm, Alumni Totton College student, said:

“I am so grateful for my time at Totton College as it helped me develop my skills and explore my interest in film and TV production in a way that I didn’t even think was possible for me.  I am really excited about what the future holds and feel like anything is possible now.”
