in Apprenticeships

In his Summer statement announcing the incentives, Rishi Sunak the Chancellor of the Exchequer told the House of Commons “We know apprenticeships work! 91% stay in work or go on to further training”. This is proof that the benefit of employing an apprentice is becoming increasingly obvious to businesses.

Apprenticeships make business sense, they provide a cost-effective way to recruit and train new employees, they give employees the skills needed to be high performers, and 86% of employers state apprenticeships helped their employees develop skills relevant to their organisation.

You can employ apprentices at different levels, from school leavers and university graduates, to people who want to further their careers or change career direction completely.

Currently businesses that hire a new young apprentice aged 16 to 24 will receive £2,000, while those that hire new apprentices aged 25 and over will be paid £1,500 – this ends in January 2021.

Now is the perfect time to engage with the Employer Services team at Totton College; we provide a free recruitment service and Business Training Needs Analysis (BTNA) to match the right apprenticeship course and apprentice, to provide the greatest benefit your business.

Totton College Apprenticeships are helping a wide range of businesses within Hampshire to introduce an apprenticeship scheme which will allow them to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled, and qualified workforce.
