Apprenticeships are an exciting option for both apprentice and employer.

Apprenticeships make business sense, they provide a cost-effective way to recruit and train new employees, they give employees the skills needed to be high performers, and 86% of employers state apprenticeships helped their employees develop skills relevant to their organisation.

You can employ apprentices at different levels, from school leavers and university graduates, to people who want to further their careers or change career direction completely.

Totton College Apprenticeships are helping a wide range of businesses within Hampshire to introduce an apprenticeship scheme which will allow them to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled, and qualified workforce. We also provide a free recruitment service to businesses seeking to hire an apprentice.

SME’s can receive government funding to pay for the costs of training, up to 100%. In addition to this, as part of the governments ‘Plan for Jobs’ scheme, businesses that hire a new apprentice aged 16 to 24 will receive £2,000, while those that hire new apprentices aged 25 and over will recieve £1,500 for any new enrolment before 31st  March 2021. This is in addition to the young person’s incentive, whereby an employer receives £1000 for a 16-18 year old apprentice or up to 24 years of age with a current EHCP.
