Outstanding Success for Arts Foundation Students – Now Progressing to Higher Education
Students looking for entry to Higher Education in Art traditionally progress through the prestigious Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. The Diploma provision at Totton College continues to prosper with the highest number of candidates this year and the best examination performance yet. Thirty-eight students were entered and all were successful, with 50% at Distinction or Merit.
Totton College Responds Strongly to New Tougher A-Levels
Totton College has responded well to the new more demanding A-Level examinations introduced this year. A 97% pass rate is accompanied by a high pass rate of 65%. A total of 23 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate. The Applied A-Level pass rate was, again, 97%, The pass rate at BTEC National was 100% for a fifth year, with 55% of students achieving a Distinction. The pass rate at other Advanced Vocational qualifications was also 100%. Overall the number of students on A-Level programmes increased by 11%, amounting to a 25% increase in the last two years.
Totton College Media Awards
Totton College's Media department saw it's second Multi-Media Awards take place recently at Harbour Lights Cinema in Ocean Village, Southampton.
Totton College is proud to be only the second Sixth Form College in England and the only one in the South to have achieved the prestigious Training Quality Standard that recognises the responsiveness of the college when dealing with employers training needs.
