Why Totton?

Lauren Bridges-Smith

Lauren Bridges-Smith - Hounsdown School

Studying: A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Psychology

I'm hoping to go to university to study Molecular and Cellular Biology or Biochemistry at Degree or Masters Level. I want to have a career in the research of science.

Totton College has provided me with tones of information and opportunities concerning my future, and experience that I need for the next step in my education. Student Services are incredible in showing me the options I need to consider and have helped me decide the direction I want to take in the future.

I chose Totton College because it was less intimidating than other colleges I had looked at. The class size creates the opportunity for greater teacher-student teaching therefore better learning. You form great relationships with your tutor as they often teach one of your chosen subjects. They see your work first hand. They are always willing to talk to you outside of lesson time to give you extra support.

I love the fact that the college is joined to Totton Recreation Centre. During my free periods I can choose to go swimming or pop into the gym for half an hour, swimming times are flexible and it's usually quiet during college hours. I always feel as though I am important to the college and not just considered a number, you know that they want you to do the best you can and be happy.
