For students with high-functioning autism, Asperger syndrome or mental health needs such as anxiety, OCD or depressive illness, we have designed a course to support your individual needs while allowing you to explore your full potential. The course includes sport, personal skills and opportunities for other activities like swimming and art.

We’ll encourage you to participate in work experience to build confidence and develop transferable skills for the work place. If you make good progress, you’re encouraged to move forward on to a mainstream course within the college in a subject of their choice.

Funding and bursaries

Students if you’re aged over 19 you may be eligible for free tuition depending on the course you want to study, your existing qualifications and your financial circumstances. For more information email info@totton.ac.uk or call 023 8087 4874.

Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over. Eligible learners will be enrolling on a level 3 or above course and are a UK or EU national. For further information, visit gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications but you will be required to attend an interview to ensure that the course meets your requirements. Most students will either have a Statement of Educational Needs or an Education, Health Care plan.

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence. It will be flexible and tailored to suite your individual needs.

You’ll take part in a wide range of activities such as cooking.
You’ll also be able to take part in other activities, both on and off the college site.

Career and Progression

Learners can progress onto the next level of study within Junctions, move into a vocational course, complete the Supported Internship, or move into employment.
