Original 106FM Choose Totton College as One of its Business Innovators
Totton College has been chosen to be one of Original 106FM's business innovators. This month Original 106FM are looking to recognise and award local businesses who have demonstrated an edge in how they innovate and introduce new ideas.

Totton College Joins Flagship Programme
Totton College is the first Sixth Form College in England to achieve the Action for Business College Standard. There are now only 24 Colleges nationwide, out of 440 Colleges, who have achieved this prestigious award. The Action for Business College Standard was developed in response to the Government Skills Strategy which increased the emphasis on education and training to become more responsive to employer needs. The accreditation recognises a College as providing exemplary service to employers and their business needs. The accreditation attracts major financial investment in College services, membership of the Action for Business Network and a quality award.

Employer Forum Launched by Totton College
A new Forum has been created to strengthen the links between the college and local employers. Six local businesses, representing Mansell Construction Services Ltd, Ellis Transport Services Ltd, Bank of England, EDP Ltd, Pure Graphics Ltd and the Marine Coastguard Agency are represented on the forum with another five organisations volunteering their future services.

Totton College Business Competition Winners on their way to New York?
Totton College played host to the Ogden trust National Business Competition 2007. The Business Competition is an annual event held throughout the United Kingdom and is aimed at encouraging business thinking and entrepreneurship. Totton College runs the competition as a part of their programme to stretch high achieving students.

The Totton College Business Development team were joined for breakfast by their partners Original 106fm and members of the business community to launch the college's Train to Gain programme.

April 2007 marks the fifteenth anniversary of The Nurse's Cottage Restaurant with Rooms in Sway. Owner Tony Barnfield talks candidly about his academic failure and business success, and how his thirst for learning brought him to Totton College at the age of 56.
