Mark and the Hon Ralph Montague who was also in attendance congratulated Paul Mincham and Charlotte Lowcock of Double H Nurseries for their business’s achievement.

Totton College Learners Go Up in the DP World!

Terminal Operators and Controllers from DP World Southampton’s container terminal have recently completed their ITQ level 2 training through Totton College. This was an innovative joint approach between DP World Southampton and Totton College to up skill the workforce in new technologies. The learning was arranged on site using college laptops to train the learners.

Secretary of State Congratulates Totton College Learners

Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills and local Member of Parliament took time from his busy schedule to meet Totton College learners at Southampton City Councils Town Depot to hear of their achievements in gaining work based qualifications in Information Technology and Essential Skills. Mr Denham presented successful learners (pictured) with their certificates to recognise their achievement.

That's Champion

Totton College are breaking new ground by hosting their very own apprenticeship champion. Sarah Rowland is employed by the college and currently on a 10 month secondment to the Association of Learning Providers Hampshire and IOW (ALPHI) Network. Sarah is one of four champions deployed across the network, and their role is to promote the new Apprenticeships and work based learning for the 22 members of this association.

Totton College awarded new Train to Gain contract

Totton College is pleased to announce it has been awarded a new contract by the Learning and Skills Council to deliver over 200 places on the Government sponsored programme "Train to Gain". This will allow local businesses to access free training for their staff up to NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 (if no Level 2 is held).

We have started working with the Southampton Container Terminal on an IT project. Tammi Dolman and her team have written a bespoke course for "Basic IT Understanding" that can be delivered under the Train to Gain funding.

Chartered Management Institute Presentation

Adrian French, Business Development Manager of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), presents a plaque to Chris Herbert, Head of Business Development, recognising Totton College as an accredited provider of Level 5 management qualifications.
