Employer Forum
Totton College has an overarching employer advisory group made up of business people from businesses in the Southampton and Totton area.
The main purpose of the forum is to:
- act as a 'critical friend' of the college in appraising and influencing the current and future offer
- To provide an independent insight into market trends
- To act as a sounding boards for new ideas and services
- To act in an advisory role to communicate the employers message to college employees
Already the forum has helped the college with marketing issues, website design feedback, and preparation for a new Training Quality Standard for colleges to meet the needs of business.
The group meet quarterly at Hanger Farm, a listed building and performing arts centre situated close to the main college.
If you would like to find out more and participate in one of the College's forums please contact Chris Herbert Head of Business Development.

I have been involved with the Employer Advisory Group representing the accountancy profession. Over this time, I have learnt a great deal about the world of Further Education. I have been very impressed by the commitment and dedication of all the people I have met that are involved with Totton College. It is clearly evident that the College wants to work in partnership with local employers to understand their training and development needs and to provide appropriate courses to meet those needs.![]()

It is beneficial to our company to be part of the employer forum and to have a range of strong links with such a progressive thinking college.![]()
