Nail Services - Level 2 NVQ Diploma

NVQ Level 2 in Nail Services

Summary

You will be working in a realistic working environment treating clients to a commercial standard. The methods of study are open learning packages and practical salon workshops. This is an ideal course for those wishing to pursue a career in the Nail Industry. You will be expected to carry out treatments/assessments on clients once competence is shown. Assessments using personal kit will be charged at £3.00 to cover department costs, all others will be charged according to the department price list. You may, at times have to source your own clients.

About the Course

You will be taught the application techniques for acrylic, silk and fibreglass as well as maintenance for all systems.

G20: Enables you to understand the Health & Safety expectations concerned in a working salon
G4: Reception Duties
G8: Teaches you the importance of professional development and effectiveness at work
G18: Will develop skills in order to increase revenue in a beauty salon by working with promotional activities
N2: Improve the condition of the hands and nails using a variety of procedures
N3: Improve the condition of the feet
N4: Learn to decorate the nails using a variety of nail art techniques
N5: Extend and maintain the nail using fibre glass and silk as well as natural nail wraps

Course Aims

To enable students to set up in business or become employed as a Manicure/Pedicurist and/or Nail Technician.

What are the entry requirements?

A good standard of English and a genuine interest in the subject.

How is the course assessed?

Practical assessment through observation by a qualified assessor, Portfolio evidence and an online examination.

Are there any resources to obtain?

A plain white tunic (order forms are available from College if required), black trousers or skirt and flat, fully enclosed shoes. Kit - Cost tbc students should ascertain that the course will run before purchasing equipment.
