Level 3 Advanced Diploma

Summary

The Level 3 City & Guilds Diplomas in Beauty Therapy further develops skills required for industry and focuses on the supervisory role of a therapist in the beauty industry. Candidates may have to source their own models that will be charged accordingly. If the candidate chooses to use their own kits there will be a housekeeping charge of £3.00 per treatment. If college resources are used the advertised price will apply.

About the Course

Unit 201 - Working in beauty therapy
Unit 302 - Monitor and maintain health and safety in the salon
Unit 203 - Consult and advise clients on treatments

The units above do not need to be taken if the candidate already holds a qualification in Health and safety or if they are already employed in the Industry

Unit 304 - Provide body massage - you will learn techniques to alleviate stress and muscle tension and adapt massage to suit specific body conditions/types
Unit 305 - Improve face and skin condition using electrotherapy
Unit 306 - Improve body condition using electrotherapy - Includes lymphatic drainage to improve circulation and gyratory massage to improve the appearance of cellulite
Unit 307 - Provide electrical epilation treatments
Unit 308 - Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
Unit 309 - Provide Indian head massage

Course Aims

The qualifications are suitable for anyone wishing to further their career in beauty therapy and or enhance their skill area.

What are the entry requirements?

Level 2 Beauty therapy or equivalent.

How is the course assessed?

Portfolio evidence and practical observation as well as case studies.

Are there any resources to obtain?

A plain white tunic at a cost of £28.00 (order forms available from the college).

If students fail the examination there will be a re-sit fee of £20.60.

The Student Support Fund may be able to help you with payments towards these costs.

What facilities can be used on this course?

Purpose built salon at either Totton College or Waterside Skills Centre.
