Top Sports Spots for Totton College

A string of superb team performances has seen Totton College’s sports students achieve fantastic results in Basketball and Football.

In a tight Basketball match held at Southampton University Totton College’s Girls Basketball team beat St Vincent College in a 63-69 nail biter. Great performances from Chelsey Withers 22 points, Sophie Knight 20 points, Jess Brookfield 12 Points, Tash Drake 6 points, Nat Smyth 5 Points, Hanna Horton 4 Points & Stacey Brown saw Totton become the Hampshire County Champions. Kevin Cleary of Totton’s Sports department said, “The girls are a credit to the college and deserve our congratulations”

In Football the future is also looking bright. After a fantastic game on the 17th December that was settled by penalties, Totton are now the only college to have their first, second and third elevens in the semi-finals of The Hampshire Colleges Cup, and as this is the first year that we are running a third team cup, this makes us the first college ever to have achieved this. All teams have a really tough draw to get in the final, the first team have an away match to Tauntons College, and the second team are at home to Itchen whilst the third team will have a game against either Brockenhurst or Eastleigh. All the semis will be played 27th January 2010. The whole college is hoping that the good form continues into the New Year.
