Totton College on the Ball

Totton College is currently providing education and training to all the young, professional footballers of The Saints. The College is delivering sports studies courses to the young apprentices. The majority of the teaching is at The Saints Marchwood Training Centre. The Football League have identified colleges in each region of the country to prepare football professionals with BTEC sports qualifications for their career after their playing days are over.

The Saints have one of the top football academies in the country with many of their graduates moving into national and International football. The Club will be providing, in return, access for the College football teams to top coaching and scouting sessions and visits to the fantastic resources at the Marchwood Training Centre. The Club will also present sessions for College students on sports psychology, diet and fitness from world class experts.

Mark Bramwell, College Principal, responding to this new innovation said; 'I was delighted to be approached by the Football League to work with the top football Club in the region. We and the club are clear that both their players and our students will benefit enormously from a partnership that will continue to grow over the next few years."

Meanwhile Totton College's Football 1st Eleven has continued its flying start in the Hampshire Sixth Form Colleges League by remaining undefeated so far this season, they're also progressing well in cup matches.

Totton Manager Andy Daish said, 'The boys have trained hard and it's obvious that this team is blessed with an abundance of talented players, they are reaping the rewards of hard work'
