How to Complain
Why complain, will it make a difference?
We are always looking for ways of improving the quality of the service we provide to the community. That is why we ask all students for feedback on courses.
Every aspect of the College, the catering, the buildings, and the administration as well as the teaching, will only improve if we know what people want and we listen to what people say.
Your comments will help us to improve. We also want to know when something has gone wrong so that we can put it right.
What should I do if I have a complaint?
You should get in touch as soon as you can.
If you can, you should first of all talk to the teacher (if it is about a class) or the person at College you had contact with or your Tutor. If that is not possible you should talk to the appropriate Manager. The best way to resolve a complaint is to do so straight away and to talk. We will do all we can to make it possible for you to do so.
What should I do if this does not resolve the issue or I do not want to do it?
You should write, telephone, e-mail, fax, make an appointment with or talk to Nick Thornton, Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Quality.
You can use the web form here if you wish.
Once you have made your complaint we will investigate and put things right if possible, within ten working days. And we will write to you to outline the investigation that has been conducted and any action that has been or will be taken.

Why Totton?

Megan Scurr - Applemore College
Studying: Psychology, law, Biology, philosophy and Critical Thinking
I hope to go to University to study for a Psychology Degree. I have visited Bristol University, Southampton University, a Higher education fair at Portsmouth University and am on the 'Pathways to Law' programme. I am also a student Ambassador.
The college has allowed me to take five AS levels rather than four with an enhancement. They were incredibly flexible, fitting around my plans, but the decision was always mine to take. I was offered multiple opportunities within the first few months of being at the college including visiting universities all over the country.
I chose Totton College because of its great environment. I instantly felt welcome on the Taster Day and Open evening. This friendly and comfortable atmosphere hasn't changed at all since I've been here as a student. The tutors and students are comfortable with each other, and you are treated like an adult.
