Equality and Diversity - NCFE Level 2 Certificate

The course aims to introduce the concept of equality and diversity and raise awareness of the issues surrounding this area. It is suitable for people wanting to develop their knowledge to aid continuous professional development or employment opportunities

About the Course

The course consists of three units:-

Unit 1 - Explore Equality and Diversity
Unit 2 - Explore prejudice and discrimination
Unit 3 - Explore people's rights and responsibilities

Unit 1 aims to highlight the importance of understanding promoting equality and diversity in the workplace and wider community

Unit 2 introduces stereotyping, labelling, prejudice and discrimination and the effects of these

Unit 3 covers rights and responsibilities and how the rights of individuals or groups can conflict

Students will attend 3 x 2 hour taught sessions at a time convenient to learners and will have up to 4 hours on a one-to-one basis.

Introduce the concept of equality and diversity
Highlight how labelling and stereotyping affects individuals and groups
Outline the effects of prejudice and discrimination
Promote good practice

A basic level of literacy and numeracy

The course via a candidate workbook. There are now exams.

No specific resources required however access to the internet will be helpful for research
