How to Apply

Step 1 - find out more

Full course details are available in the courses section on this website.

Step 2 - Come and see

Come along to one of our welcoming College Open Evenings, meet the staff and see the place for yourself - we are always glad to see you.

There are usually three open evenings each year, held in October, November and January.

Step 3 - Applying

Fill in your application form (available at the back of our prospectus or here online).

Step 4 - It's good to talk

Everyone gets an interview, starting in January, where we can discuss your interests and work out a personal programme of study together - getting it right for you.

Step 5 - Get a taste

After school exams are over, come along to our Taster Day held in July where you can sit in on classes in your chosen subjects and experience real college life - it's well worth it.

Step 6 - Results day

And, don't worry if your results aren't all you hoped for. All applicants are provided with an enrolment interview at the end of August to give you the chance to finalise your course choices and answer any questions you might have.

Step 7 - Starting at the College

Term starts in September - and it's never too late to get things the way you want them.  Your personal tutor will be on hand during your induction day and throughout your course to support and guide you.

Why Totton?

Megan Scurr

Megan Scurr - Applemore College

Studying: Psychology, law, Biology, philosophy and Critical Thinking

I hope to go to University to study for a Psychology Degree. I have visited Bristol University, Southampton University, a Higher education fair at Portsmouth University and am on the 'Pathways to Law' programme. I am also a student Ambassador.

The college has allowed me to take five AS levels rather than four with an enhancement. They were incredibly flexible, fitting around my plans, but the decision was always mine to take. I was offered multiple opportunities within the first few months of being at the college including visiting universities all over the country.

I chose Totton College because of its great environment. I instantly felt welcome on the Taster Day and Open evening. This friendly and comfortable atmosphere hasn't changed at all since I've been here as a student. The tutors and students are comfortable with each other, and you are treated like an adult.
