Scientific Success
Totton College's Engineering Education Scheme team were fantastic representatives recently at their 'Celebration & Assessment Day' at HMS Sultan, near Portsmouth. They were an absolute credit to themselves; they spoke with such confidence and ease to the panel of Chartered Engineers who were judging them in 11 categories as part of their gruelling assessment day. This included a formal presentation of 15 minutes divided between the team of 4 to describe the project they have conducted since its conception last October until today's date.

Experiencing the Drought
Totton College Year 2 students, studying BTEC Level 3 Public Services, recently completed a very damp yet enjoyable two-day expedition in the New Forest. The twelve students had to complete the walk carrying all their own equipment for the two day experience.

Volunteering Home and Away
Eight Totton College students together with Sports teacher Lee Morgan and June Crump, Student Services Manager, recently returned from a two week African Adventures volunteering trip to Nakuru, a rural part of Kenya. This was the third visit to this region by Totton College students in three years and saw them volunteer in a primary school with over 450 children, mostly orphans of HIV Aids victims.

Why Totton?

Curtis Sinden

Curtis Sinden - Hounsdown School

Studying: AS-Level Media, Sociology, History and Psychology

I chose Totton because of its locality and on looking it generally appealed to me.

The tutors have made me feel welcome from day one and supported me throughout my time here, I've had a really enjoyable first year. I've had the opportunity to travel to Munich and Vienna as a part of History and Sociology study.

I'm not certain about my future yet but the College is helpful and very informative regarding student's options for the future.
